North Penn Water Authority (NPWA) is seeking a well-rounded mechanic to manage our fleet of vehicles, and gas- and diesel-powered heavy equipment. The primary responsibilities include preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, repairs, inspections, and documentation. The successful applicant will be a disciplined, conscientious, independent worker who takes a hands-on approach with the ability to prioritize and shift their focus accordingly. NPWA prioritizes safety and provides the resources necessary for the mechanic to get the job ‘done right’.
This is a full-time, long-term position in a stable organization offering great benefits and a competitive wage. NPWA encourages and will pay for ongoing training, skill development, and required licensing.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Ensure vehicles, heavy equipment, and small equipment operate in a safe and proper manner according to regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
2. Maintain NPWA generators.
3. Provide minor welding and fabrication work as needed, including removal of equipment that requires acetylene torch for cutting services.
4. Document all vehicle and equipment maintenance, replacement, repair, and inspections in the software system.
5. Provide training support including but not limited to CDL driving, equipment maintenance, and pre-trip inspections.
6. Perform all other tasks as required.
